Grammy Camp Recap
Heyo,
So I just got back from Grammy Camp this week. For those of you who are wondering "what is this camp of grandmothers?"... let me explain. Grammy Camp is a ten day music program in LA, run by the Grammy Foundation, for emerging artists, musicians, producers, engineers, music journalists etc trying to break into the music industry. This year 81 campers came to the USC campus where we heard from panels of professionals (including Colbie Callait and Maroon 5), wrote songs, arranged and practiced those songs with crazy talented camp ensembles, then put on a final showcase at the El Rey theater in LA. Here is my song "Daylight" performed at the showcase:
That's the very short explanation... but basically this is my second year going and both years I left feeling inspired and energized by the amazing talent that surrounded me there. These are truly some of the best young musicians in the country coming together to collaborate and learn from each other... it doesn't get much better than that.
Thank you to everyone from this year's program. I hope I am lucky enough to work with all of you in the future.
